Hilldale Community Association

On the 13th of September 2014, we held a combined Village barbecue and evening of music stories and film to commemorate the start of the First World War.
To mark the occasion, Councillor May Blake dedicated a bench in the Playing Field to the memory of the men of Hilldale and Bispham who lost their lives in the Great War.

Richard Haughten, a local historian, carried out the research and provided documentation about each of the men identified as having a connection to Hilldale or Bispham.  These documents are held in a binder in the Parbold Library.  In due course they will be scanned and added to the Hilldale website.

Here are some photos from the day.
